Delhi: India’s star all -rounder and Washington Sundar, who played for the Gujarat Titans (GT) in the Indian Premier League (IPL 2025), has made a big statement about Team India’s head coach Gautam Gambhir. The left -handed batsman has credited his success to the former opener. He says that Gambhir has taught him to understand his ability and mold himself under different circumstances.
25-year-old Washington Sundar said in an exclusive interview with the Times of India (TOI), “Honestly, it makes a big difference. Gauti Bhaiya has helped me to learn how to understand my ability and adopt my game in different circumstances. It has been a lot of help to learn to learn it. It has been a great learning experience to be with him.”
The all-round player further said, “Understanding who you are and what your skills are? It matters a lot, when this happens, your graph goes up and you get to know new things about yourself from the people around you. In the last few months I have learned a lot about myself.”
It is worth noting that in the match played against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on 6 April 2025, Sundar scored 49 runs in 29 balls while batting at number 4, including 5 fours and 2 sixes. His strike rate was 168.97. The Gujarat team was in trouble at one time, 16/2, when Sundar handled the innings and laid the foundation of victory. Although he missed a half -century by one run, but his innings was highly praised.
