IPL 2025: Anil Kumble’s advice for RCB’s batting issues at Chinnaswamy

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) first season captain and former Indian veteran Anil Kumble has recently reacted to the franchise, facing trouble in the recently released IPL season.

The former leg -spinner also suggested ways that RCB batsmen can overcome their troubles in front of passionate RCB fans, which make the Chinnaswamy Stadium packed in every match.

Significantly, in the ongoing IPL, RCB has played a total of three matches at its home ground, out of which they have lost all three. Batting first in these three matches, RCB has scored a score of 169/8, 163/7 and 95/9 in a 14 overs, which is a matter of great concern.

At the same time, Kumble has said that the pitch of M Chinnaswamy Stadium is not easy to bat and Virat Kohli and Devdutt should think of playing till the end of the innings, so that the silver Patidar and Phil Salat present in the team can play their natural games.

Let me tell you that while discussing a recent discussion with Giostar about the franchise, Kumble said- RCB’s challenge while batting first in Chinnaswamy is that it is difficult to estimate a good score. Usually, the score below 200 is not safe, but this year the pitch has been a little spongy and sticky, which does not help the batsmen. Despite this, this is an advantage for the bowlers.

He had to struggle in the three matches in which RCB batted first in Chinnaswamy. Virat Kohli and Devdutt Padikkal will have to bat for a long time to give players like Phil Salt and Rajat Patidar openly to play openly.

It is not about the pitch, but about having the right batting approach. If tomorrow RCB bat first and the pitch remains the same, then I am confident that Virat will keep pace and score runs.
