Delhi: Despite not winning the title in the Indian Premier League (IPL), the fan following of Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) is no less than any champion team. This is the reason that every player playing for this team, whether it is new or experienced, gets tremendous love and support from fans. Something similar happened this time with the wicketkeeper-batsman Jitesh Sharma included in the team.
Slogans of “Jitesh-Jitesh” and “RCB-RCB”
In a recent interview of RCB, Jitesh Sharma said that since RCB bought him, his life has changed a lot. He said, “After the IPL auction, I was playing Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. At the same time, the people present in the field started raising slogans of my names, ‘Jitesh, Jitesh’ and ‘RCB, RCB’. On hearing this, I was shocked to my soul, the hair stood up.”
“Bangalore is not a small team”
Jitesh further said, “Earlier I used to think that RCB is a normal C team, but when the fans gave such a response, I understood that I have become a part of a big and tremendous support team.”

Jitesh Sharma further told in his interview that veteran player Dinesh Karthik has played an important role in his cricket career. He shared an anecdote of 2022 when he was facing some difficulties about batting in the IPL, at that time Karthik sat in detail with him and gave many useful suggestions.
Praising Karthik, Jitesh said, “He has always supported me. He is a perfect mentor. During the RCB camp, he taught me many new techniques. Today if he tells me that he has to sweep a 160 kilometers per hour ball, then I am ready to play the shot even without closing my eyes.”
A crowd of autographs surprised
He told, “After the match, about 150 people stand to take my autograph. Earlier, when I played for India too, only 2-3 people used to ask for autographs. But after becoming RCB players, people have started recognizing me. This experience was very special and new for me.”
Bengaluru bought for 11 crores
In the 2025 IPL auction, RCB bought Jitesh Sharma for Rs 11 crore. Due to his aggressive batting and excellent wicketkeeping, now his own fans have started becoming. In this season, he can become an important player for RCB.
