Delhi: The qualifier match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 is being played at Maharaja Yadavindra International Cricket Stadium, Mullapur in Chandigarh. This important match is happening between Punjab Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore. Bengaluru captain Rajat Patidar won the toss and decided to bowl first, which proved to be completely correct. The entire team of Punjab collapsed for just 101 runs. The RCB team completed the target of 102 runs at the loss of 2 wickets in 10 overs in response.
Punjab’s poor start, batting failed
Punjab Kings started very poorly. Opener Priyansh Arya and Prabhasimran Singh quickly returned to the pavilion after getting out. Priyanshu was dismissed by Yash Dayal, while Prabhasimran was dismissed by Bhuvneshwar Kumar.
Josh English, the hero of the last match, could not do anything special this time and Josh became a victim of Hazlewood by scoring 4 runs. The team had high expectations from captain Shreyas Iyer, but he also gave wickets to Hazlewood by scoring just 2 runs.
Marcus Stoinis and Umarzai tried a little
The highest run Marcus Stoinis scored the most for Punjab, he scored 26 runs. At the same time, Ajmatullah Umarzai struggled by scoring 18 runs. But the rest of the batsmen could not do anything special. Impact player Mushir Khan was dismissed without opening an account and Shashank Singh also returned only 3 runs.
RCB bowling was strong
Talking about the bowling of Bengaluru, he kept pressure from the beginning. Bhuvneshwar Kumar took 1 wicket and gave only 17 runs. Yash Dayal took 2 wickets. Josh Hazlewood took 3 wickets in his name. In this match, Suyash Sharma took 3 wickets while bowling brilliantly. Romario Shepherd also got 1 wicket. Only Krunal Pandya was a bowler who could not take any wickets.
Now RCB, one step away from reaching the finals
Bengaluru corrected everything from the toss to the bowling in this match. Now he has an easy goal of only 102 runs. If RCB achieves this target, then it will become the first team to reach the final of IPL 2025.
Bengaluru’s innings
The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) started fantastic. In the very first over, the team scored 11 runs, but Virat Kohli was dismissed in the third over. Kohli scored 12 runs in 12 balls and lost his wicket off Kyle Jaimison. After this shock, Punjab felt that they could return to the match.
Mayank and Phil Salt’s great partnership
After Kohli was dismissed, Mayank Agarwal and Phil Soult took the front. The two batsmen jointly shared a 54 -run partnership and the team’s score reached 84 runs by 8 overs. Meanwhile, Mushir Khan gave some relief to Punjab by taking the crucial wicket of Mayank Agarwal.
Rajat Patidar and Phil Salt won
After Mayank’s dismissal, captain Rajat Patidar came on the ground and scored 15 runs in 8 balls. On the other hand, Phil Soult completed his fourth half -century of this season by scoring 56 runs in 27 balls. The special thing is that Phil Soult has made all its half -century chasing the target and RCB has won in these four matches.
Punjab’s bowling faded
The bowling of Punjab Kings was not impressive in this match. His prominent bowler Arshdeep Singh conceded 20 runs in 2 overs while Kyle Jaimisson got 1 wicket, who spent 27 runs in 3 overs. Mushir Khan also conceded 27 runs in 2 overs but took the wicket of Mayank Agarwal. The rest of the bowlers could not take any wicket.
RCB reached final
RCB has made it to the finals of IPL 2025 by defeating Punjab by 8 wickets. This will be the fourth final of the Bengaluru team. Earlier, the team has reached the finals in 2009, 2011 and 2016. Now RCB has to play the final on 3 June at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
Now it will be interesting to see which team Bangalore faces in the final – will it return to Punjab, or will any team from Mumbai or Gujarat be in front of them?
