Delhi: In the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) suffered a sixth defeat against Mumbai Indians (Mi). A surprising incident happened in the third over of the match when Hyderabad batsman Ishaan Kishan left the ground without being out and returned to the pavilion.
Actually, Kishan tried to play a ball from Ryan Ricelton but the ball and bat had no contact. The wicketkeeper appealed by holding the ball, but the umpire did not give out. Despite this, Ishaan himself returned to the pavilion. Later, the replay clearly showed that the ball did not even touch the bat.
Sehwag expressed resentment
Former cricketer Virender Sehwag gave his response to the cricketer on this incident. He said, “On such occasions the mind stops working many times. This decision was not honest but mental weakness. The umpire should have been allowed to decide, they are also taking money for their work.”
Sehwag further said, “If the edge of the bat was really, then the decision to leave the field would have been considered correct, but when nothing happened, then it is beyond comprehension to return in this way.”
Vaibhav got advice
Sehwag also gave a special advice to young batsman Vaibhav Suryavanshi during this period. He said that Vaibhav should remain connected to the ground and should not allow the success of his first match to climb on the head.
Sehwag said, “I have seen many players who play well in the beginning, but as soon as they get stardom, their performance starts falling. Vaibhav should learn from Virat Kohli, who keeps himself balanced.”
Great partnership of Rohit and Suryakumar
Talking about the match, Mumbai Indians performed brilliantly and defeated Hyderabad by seven wickets. Rohit Sharma scored a second consecutive half -century and had an important partnership of 53 runs with Suryakumar Yadav. With this victory, Mumbai registered their fourth consecutive win in IPL 2025.
