Delhi: In the 57th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) won the toss and decided to bat first and scored 179 runs losing 6 wickets in 20 overs in this match played at Eden Gardens. This match was very important for KKR to stay in the playoff race. In response, Chennai Super Kings achieved this target with 2 wickets and finally tasted victory after 4 consecutive defeats.
First innings game
For Kolkata, wicketkeeper batsman Rahmanullah Gurbaz made an aggressive start but could score 11 runs in just 9 balls, but he could not last long and Anshul was dismissed by Kamboj. After this, Sunil Naren (26 runs) and captain Ajinkya Rahane (48 runs) kept the run speed fast while handling the innings.

Manish Pandey played an important innings of 36* runs in 28 balls, while Andre Russell scored 38 runs in 21 balls and took the team to a big score. Rinku Singh also contributed 9 runs in 6 balls.

Second innings game
The innings of Chennai Super Kings was very disappointing. Opener Ayush Mhatre was dismissed by Harshit Rana without opening an account. After him, Devon Conway also returned to the pavilion off Moin Ali at zero. Urvil Patel, who came to play his first match at number three, showed a little faster and scored 31 runs in 11 balls, including 4 fours and 1 six. He was dismissed by Harshit Rana.

Shivam batted thoughtfully with Dhoni. Dubey was dismissed for 45 runs in 40 balls. While captain MS Dhoni batted for 17 runs, in the end Anshul Kamboj won the team with a four.
Kolkata bowling
Kolkata Knight Riders bowlers worked hard against Chennai Super Kings, but could not win the team. Vaibhav Arora took 3 wickets for 48 runs in 3 overs, but his economy rate was 16.00 which proved to be expensive for the team. Moin Ali took 1 wicket for just 23 runs in 2 overs while bowling economically and his economy was 11.50.
Harshit Rana took 2 important wickets for 43 runs in 4 overs. Varun Chakraborty performed brilliantly, taking 2 wickets for just 18 runs in 4 overs and his economy was 4.50, which was the best among the bowlers.
Sunil Naren also conceded 28 runs in 4 overs, but he did not get any success. Andre Russell conceded 22 runs in 2.4 overs, but he also failed to take wickets and his economy was 8.20.
