Delhi: Mumbai Indians (MI) gave South African all -rounder Corbin Bosch a chance to debut in the IPL before the match against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at Wankhede Stadium on Sunday. Bosch has been included in the playing XI in place of the injured Mitchell Santner. Recently he was added to the team instead of Lisad Williams.

Controversy occurred after being out of PSL

The debut of Corbin Bosch is at a time when the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) recently banned him from the Pakistan Super League (PSL) for a year. The ban was imposed because Bosch withdrew his name from the PSL 2025 season, while he was selected by Peshawar Zalmi in the team as a diamond pick.

Bosch presented apologies

Corbin Bosch publicly apologized after the ban. In a statement issued through PCB, he said, “I express deep regret over my decision to withdraw from PSL and apologize to the people of Pakistan, fans of Peshawar Zalmi and the cricket world.”

Bosch’s cricket career

Corbin Bosch is a right -handed fast bowler and middle order batsman. He has played 86 T20 matches so far with 59 wickets and his best score is 81 runs. He was part of South Africa’s Under-19 World Cup winning team in 2014, where he won the title of ‘Player of the Final’ with 4 wickets in the final.

Senior debut made in 2024

Bosch made his senior level debut for South Africa in 2024. Apart from this, he has been playing regularly in domestic cricket. He also played an important role in Mi Cape Town’s SA20 2025 title win, where he took 11 wickets.
