Upcoming IPL auction can be seen in Dubai
IPL 2025: Cricket fans are eagerly waiting for the mega auction for the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). But now the wait of these cricket fans is going to end very soon, because the Governing Council of IPL has announced the date for the auction for the exciting season of the tournament.
If media reports of Times of India are to be believed, IPL 2025 auction can be seen on November 30. The auction will be seen taking place in Dubai city of United Arab Emirates (UAE). It is noteworthy that on December 19 last year, the IPL 2024 auction was seen at the Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai.
So, when once again 10 franchises will come face to face in the upcoming mega auction, there can be a bidding war between them like in the last few seasons. Who can forget the bidding war between Kolkata Knight Riders and Sunrisers Hyderabad to buy Australian fast bowler Mitchell Starc in the last auction, when KKR bought Starc for a record Rs 24.75 crore.
Also, let us tell you that recently BCCI has told all the rules regarding retention in IPL teams to the franchises. So now all the teams have to submit the list of retained players by October 31, 2024.
Sunrisers Hyderabad retained these 3 players
According to ESPN Cricinfo, last season’s IPL finalist Sunriders Hyderabad have decided to retain Pat Cummins, wicketkeeper Heinrich Klaasen and opener and all-rounder Abhishek Sharma.
However, the team has retained Cummins for Rs 18 crore, while Klaasen’s salary has seen a jump of about 338 percent. In the year 2023, Klaasen was bought by Hyderabad for Rs 5.25 crore. Klaasen is seen getting around Rs 23 crore in the upcoming season.
