Delhi: Former Australian veteran opener Matthew Hayden has held the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 responsible for the lack of confidence and excessive thinking for the poor form of Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). Hayden’s remarks came after a 7 -wicket defeat against Mumbai Indians (Mi) on Wednesday.
Hayden said on JISTAR
Henrik Klassen’s combative 71 -run innings after the early top order collapsed at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, SRH scored a score of 143/8. However, Mumbai achieved the target of 144 runs in just 15.4 overs. Rohit Sharma’s wonderful 70 -run innings and Suryakumar Yadav’s batting of 40 runs in 19 balls took Mumbai to 146/3. This was Mumbai’s fourth consecutive win, causing them to third from sixth position in the points table.
Hayden advised SRH to return to basic cricket. He said, “They have to avoid thinking more than necessary and pay attention to their game. Right now the SRH is trying to return to the tournament. Sometimes he is running after the combination, sometimes behind the form that sometimes gave strength to their batting.”
Sunrisers Hyderabad is at ninth in the points table with just two wins in 8 matches and it is now difficult for them to reach the playoffs. To qualify, they have to win all the remaining 6 matches, so that they can reach 16 points. However, even if they reach 14 points, they will still have a chance.
