Delhi: In the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2025, Islamabad United (ISU) performed a tremendous performance and defeated Peshawar Zalami (PSZ) by 102 runs. This was the biggest win ever in Islamabad’s PSL history. With this victory, United won the second consecutive win in the tournament and reached the top position in the points table, while Peshawar has slipped down after two consecutive defeats.
Farhan’s stormy century
Opener Sahibzada Farhan, who was the hero of Islamabad’s victory, played a brilliant innings of 106 runs in just 52 balls. His innings included 13 fours and 5 sixes. Farhan completed a century in just 49 balls, which is an equal to the fastest century record for Islamabad United in PSL.
Shatak partnership with Munro
Farhan got a good support of Colin Munro, who scored 40 runs in 27 balls. The two batsmen together shared a 144 -run partnership for the second wicket, giving the team a strong platform. However, Alzari Joseph dismissed both in a single over, but the speed of scoring was not affected.
Aga and Holder gave fast finish
Taking this rhythm forward, Salman Ali Aga added 30 runs from 15 balls and Jason Holder added 20 runs from 11 balls. Islamabad United scored 243 runs in its 20 overs, the team’s second highest score in PSL.
Zalmi’s innings faded
Peshawar Zalmi, who came out to chase the big target, was very poor. Three wickets fell in the first four overs, which included important players like captain Babar Azam and Sym Job. Mohammad Haris took the necessary front and scored 87 runs from 47 balls, but he did not get special support from any other batsman.
Bowlers did wonders
The bowlers of Islamabad bowled with an exact line and length. Imad Wasim took 3 wickets and destroyed Zalami’s expectations. Shadab Khan and Ben Dvarshuis also got two successes. The entire team was reduced to 141 runs in 18.2 overs.
