Delhi: Rajasthan Royals (RR) fast bowler Jofra Archer finally took wickets after a long wait in the Indian Premier League (IPL). On Sunday, March 30, he achieved this feat against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the match played at Barsapara Stadium in Guwahati. Earlier, his last wicket in IPL came 699 days ago, when he played against Rajasthan Royals at the Wankhede Stadium on behalf of Mumbai Indians (Mi).

Subsequently, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) stopped him from playing in IPL 2024 due to his back and elbow problems. Archer did not start well in IPL 2025. In his first match against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), he scored 76 runs in 4 overs. After this, his performance against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) was also simple, where he gave 33 runs in 4 overs. However, he made a tremendous comeback against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and appeared in his old color.
On Sunday, Rajasthan Royals batted first and set a target of 183 runs in front of CSK. In response, Archer surprised everyone with his first ball with his fire. He threw the first maiden over of IPL 2025 and sent CSK opener Rachin Ravindra to the pavilion in zero in four balls.
Subsequently, CSK captain Ruturaj Gaikwad and Rahul Tripathi played Archer’s balls and played. Archer’s first two-overs figures were 2-1-1-1, which reflect his impressive performance. However, in his third over, Rahul Tripathi tried to remove the pressure by hitting a brilliant six and a four on Archer.
