Delhi: Gujarat Titans (GT) star fast bowler Kagiso Rabada had to return to South Africa due to personal reasons between the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, causing Gujarat’s bowling a bit weakened. Since then, there has been no concrete update about the return of this right hand pace.
However, Ashish Kapoor, assistant coach of Gujarat Titans, has given information about the return of Rabada. He said that it is possible that Rabada can return at the end of the tournament.
He said, “We are just waiting for them to come. They might return. They have gone due to some family and personal problems. If they are resolved in time, they can come back. But, we do not know when we are just waiting.”
At the same time, Gujarat team has also been worried about the form of Afghan leg spinner Rashid Khan. Rashid is performing the worst of his IPL career this season. He has been able to take only four wickets from the ball so far. However, coach Kapoor refused to express concern about his form.
He further said, “Be it a batsman or a bowler, when you perform well for a long time, some bad habits get, whether in batting or bowling. And in the case of Rashid, I think there was a problem in his back last year, for which he had to undergo surgery, when you play in such a problem, you often make some changes in your bowling action.
However, Gujarat Titans suffered defeat against Lucknow Super Giants in their last match, but the team would now want to return against Delhi Capitals (DC) on 19 April (Saturday).
