Delhi: The 18th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2025) is going to start from March 22, with the first match at the Eden Garden Stadium between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has released the entire schedule of the tournament, but now the news is coming that the Kolkata Knight Riders vs Lucknow Super Giant (LSG) match to be held on this ground on 6 April can be transferred.

The festival of Ram Navami will be celebrated on 6 April, with which procession is taken out on a large scale in Kolkata. According to reports, Kolkata Police has expressed concern about providing adequate security for religious events and IPL matches on this day.

For this reason, the match between KKR and LSG is expected to be rested. Earlier, in 2024 also a match between KKR and Rajasthan Royals (RR) was rescheduled due to security reasons.

The Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) has contacted West Bengal Sports Minister Arup Biswas on this issue. The minister has assured that a solution will be found after discussing with the police.

At the moment, two possibilities are being considered – either the match date should be changed or it should be transferred to another venue. However, the final decision on this will be taken soon.
