Today is the second day of IPL 2025 mega auction. A total of 84 players were bid on the first day, out of which 72 players were sold, while no franchise showed interest in 12 players and they remained unsold. A total of 577 players were shortlisted for the auction, so now bidding has to be done on 493 players on the second day.

In such a situation, the fans are in confusion that if the names of only 84 players have come in the auction on the first day, then how will the bids for the remaining 493 players be placed on the second day. So let us tell you, there will be an accelerated auction on the second day in which the teams will be asked to shortlist their favorite players after a fixed number of days. Then the auction will be held on the basis of the list of players given by the team.

IPL 2025 Mega Auction: What is this accelerated auction?

Accelerated round is a process to complete this auction quickly. Its advantage is that not all players will be named during the auction in that round. After a fixed number of matches, the teams will prepare a list of their favorite players from the remaining players and then bid will be placed on those players only.

The remaining 85 to 577 players will be presented in the IPL auction list on Monday. The process will remain the same as the first day of the auction in Jeddah, until the 116th player is introduced, after which there will be an accelerated auction.

There will be two rounds of accelerated auction. In the first round, all the franchises will be asked to shortlist their preferred players from 117 to 577 players, who will be offered during the accelerated auction round. The second round will include all those players who were either not sold or not offered during the first accelerated auction.
