10 IPL franchises submitted the list of their respective retained players to BCCI on October 31. The franchises have revealed which players they will retain ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction, and several reports were confirmed on the retention day. Players like Rishabh Pant and KL Rahul were released by their franchises.

India’s star batsman Rinku Singh was retained by Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). The star batsman is one of the players who got the biggest hike compared to last season. It is noteworthy that in IPL 2024, Rinku Singh had earned Rs 55 lakh in the season. However, he was the team’s top retention for the IPL 2024 champions and got a hike of 2264%. He was retained for Rs 13 crore.

One of the most talked-about selections for Punjab Kings in the IPL 2024 auction, Shashank Singh came into the fold and was one of the two players retained for the team ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction. Sri Lanka’s star fast bowler Mathisha Pathirana got the second highest hike after being retained by Chennai Super Kings. In IPL 2024, Pathirana earned Rs 20 lakh, and he has received a huge salary hike after his retention. In IPL 2025, Pathirana will earn a whopping Rs 13 crore, an increase of 6400%.

Star India wicketkeeper-batsman Dhruv Jurel is the player with the biggest salary hike ahead of IPL 2025. Representing Rajasthan Royals, Jurel earned Rs 20 lakh last season and after his retention, he will earn Rs 14 crore for IPL 2025, which is 6900% more than last season.
