Delhi: The 33rd match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 was played between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore. In this 34th match, Punjab Kings defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore by 5 wickets. The match was played for 14–14 overs at the Chinnaswamy Stadium due to rain. Punjab won the toss and decided to bowl first. RCB scored 95 runs and lost 9 wickets. In response, Punjab achieved the target in 12.1 overs.

Punjab’s victory

In the low-scoring match against RCB, Punjab Kings wisely won by 5 wickets. Chasing an easy target of 96 runs, the team started a bit waisting, when openers Prabhasimran Singh and Priyansh Arya lost their wickets in a hurry.

Captain Shreyas Iyer also could not last long and Punjab looked in trouble by losing 4 wickets for 54 runs at one time. Then Nihal Vadhera took the front and put an aggressive shots against Suyash Sharma’s bowling and overturned the match.

Nihal played an unbeaten innings of 33 runs, in which he hit 3 fours and 3 sixes. At the same time, Josh English contributed 14 runs. Initially Priyansh Arya scored 16 runs in 11 balls while Prabhasimran was dismissed for 13 runs. In the end, Marcus Stoinis won the team by scoring 7 runs.

RCB’s batting was very disappointing

Batting first, the RCB team could score only 95 runs in the entire 14 overs and their 9 wickets fell. The team started very poorly. Openers Philip Salt (4) and Virat Kohli (1) returned to the pavilion early. Captain Rajat Patidar scored a crucial 23 runs but he could not last long.

The middle order of the team also disappointed. Liam Livingstone (4), Jitesh Sharma (2), Krunal Pandya (1) and Manoj Bhandage (1) were dismissed cheaply.

The team got some relief from Tim David, who played a brilliant innings of 50 runs off 26 balls and brought the score to a slightly respected position.

Punjab bowlers perform strong performance

In bowling from Punjab Kings, Arshdeep Singh gave a good start with 2 wickets in 3 overs. Marco Janson also took 2 wickets. Yuzvendra Chahal and Harpreet Brar also got 2-2 successes. Zewear Bartlet also got a wicket.

Punjab needs 96 runs

Due to the weak batting of RCB, Punjab Kings now have an easy target of 96 runs. If Punjab’s batting does not stagge, then this match can prove to be one -sided for them.
