In a recent interview, Dravid admitted that the Impact Player Rule has made the IPL more competitive, but the impact on all -rounders can create difficulties for the team.

He further said, “According to data, now the teams are scoring more runs due to an additional expert batsman. This means that no team is completely out of the match. You can keep a hitter at number 8 or even number 9, so that even after falling 6-7 wickets, the aggressive batting can continue.”
He said, “As a coach, you want to develop all-rounders, and in the old 11 vs 11 formats, players used to get more opportunities to bat or bowl under different circumstances. The Impact Player Rule has changed the situation to some extent. However, an all-rounder balances the team, but now the teams can work without the team if not the right choice is not available.”
