IPL 2025: Rashid Khan joins shameful list with 25 runs in one over

Delhi: The match played against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) for Afghan spinner Rashid Khan, who was always successful in the Indian Premier League (IPL), was no less than a nightmare. This veteran bowler of Gujarat Titans (GT) was targeted by Mitchell Marsh and spoiled the entire plan of his bowling.

Lucknow gets a great start

Lucknow won the toss and made a tremendous start batting first. The opening pair Mitchell Marsh and Aidan Markram gave a strong base to the team by sharing 91 runs for the first wicket. Both of them put pressure on Gujarat’s bowling from the beginning.

Rashid rained runs in over

When Gujarat captain Shubman Gill handed over the ball to Rashid Khan in the 12th over, it was expected that he would give success to the team. But Mitchell Marsh’s plan was something else. He hit a six on Rashid’s first ball and after that he also hit a four. Then the over was finished with another six, and two consecutive fours. Marsh completed this over of 25 runs by taking one run off the last ball.

Before this one over of Rashid, Lucknow was score at 107, but by the end of the over, the team’s score reached 132. This over turned the attitude of the match completely in the favor of Lucknow.

Rashid gets only two overs

After this bad over, Rashid got a chance to throw only another over, in which he conceded 11 runs. Overall, he spent 36 runs in 2 overs and his economy rate was 18. This can be considered one of his worst performances in the IPL.
