IPL 2025: Ricky Ponting predicts Punjab Kings to triumph, cautions all teams

Delhi: The new head coach of Punjab Kings Ricky Ponting has made a big statement before the Indian Premier League (IPL) starts 2025. He has claimed that this time the Punjab Kings team will be the best team ever and their goal is to get the team a trophy.

Ponting told his goal

Former Australian captain and Punjab Kings new coach Ricky Ponting said, “We have only one goal-winning IPL! On the first day of Dharamshala Camp, I told the players that we will form Punjab Kings’s strongest team. It will not happen overnight, work will have to be done for it.”

He further said, “We descend to win not just on the field, but to win. When the opposing team wants to defeat us, it seems as if they are snatching something from us, and I do not want to let anyone snatch anything from us.”

Trust on new players

Ponting also made a big statement about some young players. He said, “Priyansh Arya can become a great opener and will prove to be an important player for the team. Apart from this, Suryansh Shedge is also performing very impressive in our camp.”

In IPL 2025, Punjab Kings will play their first match against Gujarat Titans at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on 25 March.
