IPL 2025, RR VS RCB: Rajasthan Royals set target of 174 runs for Royal Challengers Bangalore

Delhi: Rajasthan Royals and Royal Challengers Bangalore are face to face in the 28th match of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. In this match being played at Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur, RCB won the toss and decided to bowl first. Rajasthan scored 173 runs losing 4 wickets in 20 overs. Now Bengaluru will have to achieve the target of 174 runs to win.

First innings game

For Rajasthan, opener batsman Yashasvi Jaiswal once again performed the best batting. He played a fast innings of 75 runs off 47 balls, including 10 fours and 2 sixes. He made an aggressive start in the powerplay and put RCB bowlers under pressure. However, in the 16th over, Josh Hazlewood sent him LBW and sent him to the pavilion.

Captain Sanju Samson could not play a big innings and scored 15 runs and stumped Krunal Pandya. Ryan Parag played a useful innings of 30 runs (22 balls), but he too could not convert into a big innings. Dhruv Juril finally scored 35 runs off 23 balls, batting quickly and took the team to a respectable score. Shimron Hetmyer scored 10 runs in 8 balls, while Nitish Rana returned unbeaten after scoring 4 runs on the first ball.

Bowling was fantastic

Four bowlers got success from RCB. Yash Dayal, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Josh Hazlewood and Krunal Pandya took one wicket each. Suyash Sharma proved to be expensive, he took 39 runs in his 4 overs. RCB limited Rajasthan’s run rate by bowling well in the middle overs.

A target of 174 runs

Now Royal Challengers Bangalore has to achieve a target of 174 runs. Dhakad batsmen like Virat Kohli, Philip Salt, Rajat Patidar and Liam Livingstone are present with the team. It will be interesting to see if Rajasthan’s bowling will be able to successfully defend this score or Bangalore will register its fourth win.
