Delhi: There was a fun scene in the Chinnaswamy Stadium before the match between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Rajasthan Royals (RR). Cricket legend Sunil Gavaskar spent some light moments playing with the new robot dog ‘Champak’ of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025.
Champak became social media star
At the beginning of this season, the IPL had fielded this four -legged robot field and online voting was done for its name. “Champak” got the most votes. The name is inspired by the famous character of the TV show ‘Tarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashma’ ‘Champaklal Gada’, due to which the fans chose this name with great fervor.

‘Champak’ is a robot made of advanced technology that can run, rotate, jump and also balance your back legs. Live videos are found from its head camera, which shows new angles of the match on television.
