Delhi: Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) star batsman Virat Kohli suffered an injury in the match played against the Gujarat Titans (GT) at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bangalore on Wednesday, April 2. The incident took place on the fifth ball of the 12th over of GT’s innings, when 36 -year -old Kohli injured his finger in an attempt to stop the boundary.

Delhi -born Kohli missed out fielding, when he tried to stop a tremendous shot of Sai Sudarshan. Sudarshan played a shot towards deep midwicket off Krunal Pandya. Kohli reached the ball, but could not catch it completely, and the ball crossed the boundary with his hands.

After this, Kohli was seen in a lot of pain and had to take treatment on the field itself. Seeing this scene, there was silence throughout the stadium, and the breath of RCB fans stopped. However, Kohli continued fielding.

Disappointing days for Kohli and RCB

Kohli scored six runs off just seven balls, after which the left -handed pacer Arshad Khan sent him to the pavilion. Arshad put a small ball at the leg stump, on which Kohli tried to play the bridge shot. However, he could not take it properly and instead of transporting the ball beyond the boundary line, the fielder went directly into the hands of the famous Krishna. Arshad happily looked at the sky, while there was silence for a moment at the entire Chinnaswamy Stadium.

Significantly, RCB scored a respectable score of 169 runs at the loss of 8 wickets thanks to Liam Livingstone (54 runs) and Tim David (32 not out). However, Gujarat Titans achieved the target with 13 balls remaining. Jose Butler’s unbeaten 73 -run innings gave GT an easy win.
