Delhi: The Rajasthan Royals (RR) team failed to chase the target once again in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. The batsmen performed poorly in the final over in the match against Royal Challengers Bangalore, due to which the team suffered another close defeat.

Difficulties increased due to fifth consecutive defeat

This season is the fifth consecutive defeat of Rajasthan. So far, the team has lost 7 out of 9 matches. After losing so many matches, the team has started deepening the danger of getting out of the tournament.

Gavaskar erupted

Former cricketer Sunil Gavaskar was very angry after seeing the team’s disappointing performance. He also questioned the strategies of head coach Rahul Dravid. Gavaskar said that Dravid is known for understanding in coaching, but that strategic thinking is not visible in the game of Rajasthan.

‘Where did the decisions of thought go?’

Talking on Star Sports, Gavaskar said, “I was present on the field during the match and the cricket that was played was shocking. When coach Rahul Dravid is experienced, then such a game can surprise anyone.”

Gavaskar said that Dravid’s thinking has always been clean and strategic, but Rajasthan batsmen are seen playing without any plan. He also added that high expectations cannot be made from inexperienced players, but such careless cricket is also not right.

The biggest weakness of finishing

This season Rajasthan has lost at least three such matches where the victory was close to them. In the last two overs against RCB, only 18 runs were required and 5 wickets were left, yet the team could score one run and lost two wickets.
