Delhi: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), due to increased tension on the border between India and Pakistan, has suspended the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season for a week. After this decision, it is now expected that the tournament will be resumed after a week. Meanwhile, former BCCI president Sourav Ganguly has praised the board’s move and has given his big statement on it.
Ganguly appreciated the verdict
Talking to India Today, Sourav Ganguly said, “I noticed that IPL has been stopped for 7 days. But, BCCI will definitely complete it. Such an emergency situation came during the time of Kovid and even then the board had successfully completed the tournament. I am confident that this time BCCI will be successful. Our board will be very strong and our country is very strong and our country will move forward. Not only during the war, but every day protect the country, due to which we are able to live here in peace. “
IPL 2025 still remains 16 matches
Let us know that on May 8, the 58th match of IPL 2025 was being played between Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Delhi Capitals (DC) in Dharamshala. Then the match was stopped in the middle due to increasing tension on the border. After this, BCCI has also postponed the entire tournament for a week. There are 16 matches left for IPL 2025 and BCCI is trying to get them done as soon as possible.
