Delhi: Indian fast bowler Jaspreet Bumrah’s return to the ground may take more time. According to reports, Bumrah will not be able to play in the initial week of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2025) and will join the Mumbai Indians team in April itself.
Bumrah is currently passing through the rehab at the BCCI Center of Excellence in Bangalore. He could not even play in the ongoing Champions Trophy due to back injury. According to BCCI sources, Bumrah’s medical report is correct and he has started bowling, but he has not come in full rhythm yet. It is believed that he will be fully prepared for fast bowling by the first week of April.
This means that he can miss the first three-four matches for Mumbai Indians. He has not started bowling at 100% capacity yet, and the medical team will gradually increase their workload. Till he does not bowl fast fast without any trouble, he will not get approval to play.

It is necessary to stay fit for England Test Series
Soon after the IPL, India has to play a five -Test series against England, which will be very important. The team management wants Bumrah to be fully fit for this tour. If Rohit Sharma leaves the Test captaincy, then Bumrah is considered to be a strong contender for captaincy. But keeping in mind their fitness, the selectors do not want to take any risk.
