Didn’t take number 12 jersey because of Yuvraj Singh
Bumrah told that initially he wanted to take jersey number 12, but at that time this number was with senior player Yuvraj Singh. In his honor, he did not take this number and chose number 93. In an interview with Howard, the fast bowler said, “93 is my birth year, so I chose this number, when I came into the team, I wanted number 12. But, at that time he was with Yuvraj Singh. Being a senior, I took number 93 in his place.”
Bumrah’s special performance
Bumrah also showed a great example of his captaincy. Under his leadership, India defeated Australia by 295 runs in the first test match of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. This year Bumrah achieved the big milestone of completing 50 wickets in Test cricket. He has become the third Indian bowler to take more than 50 Test wickets in a calendar year.
