The International Cricket Council on Monday shortlisted four players for Cricketer of the Year. The name of Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah is also included in this list. Apart from them, Joe Root, Travis Head and Harry Brook have also been shortlisted for the Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy.

Bumrah’s brilliant performance
Bumrah’s performance in international cricket in 2024 has been excellent. He took 71 wickets in 13 test matches, and his average during this period was 14.92. An example of his best bowling came in the form of figures of 6/45. Apart from this, Bumrah took 15 wickets in 8 T20 International matches and his economy was 4.17. Even in the T20 World Cup 2024, he was among the bowlers who took the most wickets for India. Besides, their economy was also the lowest in the World Cup 2024. Due to which he was awarded the Player of the Tournament award in that World Cup.
