Delhi: England defeated Joe Root’s brilliant 166* run-innings and Adil Rashid’s deadly bowling (4/63) defeated the West Indies by 3 wickets in the second ODI and won the series of three matches 2-0. In this match played at Cardiff’s Sophia Gardens, England bowled first and allotted the West Indies for 308 runs and then achieved the target with 7 balls remaining.
England started very poorly when both openers (Jamie Smith and Ben Docket) returned to the pavilion without opening an account. Captain Harry Brook (44) and Joe Root handled the innings, but England was in trouble at the score of 56/4 after Brook was dismissed.
