Delhi: Harry Brook and Yashasvi Jaiswal are often called the future of world cricket. In this series, England’s limited overs captain Jos Buttler has named another possible superstar of English cricket. Butler has described 21-year-old Jacob Bethel as the next big star of England cricket.
Praising Bethel, Butler said, “I think he is a player in English cricket who has been talked about for a long time. He is known for his talent, his name was being taken as a special player ever since he was playing at the Under-19 level. I am sure he is the future of world cricket.”*
Left-handed batsman Bethel has played three Test matches so far, in which he has scored 260 runs. He has three half-centuries in his name in Tests. At the same time, he has scored 167 runs in 8 ODI matches. In T20 International, Bethel has showcased his talent by scoring 173 runs in 7 matches so far.
