Kagiso Rabada’s cocaine ban caused uproar in cricket world.

According to a report by South African Publication Raport, Kagiso Rabada, who returned to the IPL after a doping ban, was found positive in the test of Rabada. In fact, one of the best fast bowlers of this generation allegedly consumed cocaine before the SA20 tournament.

Rabada, who played for Gujarat Titans in the IPL, was ruled out of the IPL on April 3, a week after the tournament this year. The franchise said that Rabada has returned home for personal reasons and did not give any more information. On May 5, it was informed that Rabada will return to the IPL after doping ban. And on Saturday, May 10 itself, RELON and News 24 reported that the medicine taken by Rabada before the SA20 was cocaine.

According to sources quoted in both the reports, Rabada’s lawyers were able to prove that the fast bowler did not use cocaine during the SA20 tournament, as cocaine’s metabolite, benzolygonin (BZE) concentrations were less than 1,000 nanograms per milliliters.

The report also claimed that Rabada refused to conduct an examination of another sample. Earlier it was also told that Rabada’s medicine was going to give rest, not the performance.

Tim Paine expressed displeasure

At the same time, after the news of Rabada’s doping ban surfaced in the first week of May, former Australia captain Tim Paine expressed displeasure over the short duration of the ban and the lack of transparency in the entire process. Penn told Sen Radio that fans had the right to know which substance Rabada had consumed, due to which he was banned from all formats of cricket for a month.
