Delhi: Former Pakistan wicketkeeper-batsman Kamran Akmal has expressed displeasure over Pakistan’s poor performance against New Zealand. Taking a dig at the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Mohsin Naqvi, he said that if he cannot improve the condition of the team, he should resign from his post.

Disappointing performance in ICC tournament

Pakistan cricket team is currently going through a very bad phase. The team did not succeed in winning a single match in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. After this, in the ODI series against New Zealand, the team captained by Mohammad Rizwan lost an unassailable 2-0 lead.

Defeat in T20i series also

Prior to the ODI series, Pakistan also lost a five -match T20 series. Due to continuous poor performance, Kamran Akmal reacted sharply to the PCB chairman. He said, “If you cannot handle the team, then resign.”

Kamran Akmal on his YouTube channel said, “It is shameful. The PCB chairman should think that if he does not improve the team, he should leave and leave. Do not waste your reputation. If you want to remain in office, then make the team strong.”

Angered about bowlers also expressed resentment

Akmal also raised questions on the poor line and length of Pakistan bowlers. He suggested that new players should be given a chance to strengthen the team. He said, “If our bowlers can’t bowl on such pitches, then where else will you do? In Asia, the pitches are not favorable to the bowlers. Where the pitch helps, they are not able to do anything there. We need a change in our bowling.”

Half of Pakistan’s team returned to the pavilion on a score of just 65/6 by the 21st over. Faheem Ashraf (73 runs, 80 balls) and Naseem Shah (51 runs, 44 balls) took the team to a respectable score of 208 runs.

“We need wickets, not run from Naseem”

Akmal said that Nasim Shah’s job is not to bat, but take wickets. “Faheem Ashraf saved us. But we do not want a run from Nasim Shah. When Babar Azam was out, the whole batting was shattered. I did not see any player apart from the coach to defeat. You are ruining Pakistan cricket.”
