Delhi: For the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, Delhi Capitals appointed former English captain Kevin Peterson as mentor. This was announced by the franchise on Thursday, 27 February on its social media accounts. Peterson has been a former player of the Delhi team and will now be a part of the coaching staff.
Delhi Capitals have made a big change in their coaching staff. After IPL 2024, he broke his ties with Ricky Ponting and appointed Hemang Badani as head coach. Badani was already involved in the auction process with the team and he played an important role in including some good players in the team.

Pieterson’s old relationship from Delhi
This will be the first time Kevin Peterson will play a coaching role in the IPL. To this, he said, “I have some great memories playing for the Delhi team. I have always played with passion for this team, and during broadcasting, my deep relationship with this team remained a deep relationship. I have played with Venugopal Rao (DC Director of Cricket) in 2012 and now I am excited to work with him again. “
He further said, “I have a good relationship with the owners and fans of the team. When I received an offer to become a mentor, I said yes without any delay. I am very excited about this role and will work hard to make the team champion. ”
Kevin Pietersen played for Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2009 and 2010. After this he became part of Delhi Capitals in 2012 and 2014. His last season in IPL was in 2016, when he played for RPS.
