Reaction to batting
After winning the match by 100 runs, Mumbai captain Hardik Pandya praised the team’s batting and said that the manner in which the team batted was commendable. He admitted that he might have added 15 runs, but overall the batsmen performed excellent.
Referring to talks with Suryakumar Yadav
Pandya said that during a conversation with Suryakumar Yadav, both of them agreed that they should play “cricketing shots”, meaning they should not be risky but wisely put shots in the gap. He said, “The real benefit of shots is only when you play them in the right direction.”
Rohit Sharma’s batting appreciated
He particularly appreciated the batting of Rohit Sharma and Ryan Parag. Pandya said that Ryan maintained intention and sent balls to the targeted areas, which was quite spectacular.
It is important to play according to the situation
Pandya believes that it is not necessary who is getting a chance, but it matters what the team needs at that time. He said that now players are returning to “batsmanship” again, meaning playing in the gap, running fast and batting wisely.
Trust on bowling unit
Regarding bowling, Pandya said that the team has a bowler full of experience and capacity, so that he does not need to worry in any situation. All players understand their roles well.
Simplicity and discipline is the key to victory
In the end, Hardik said that the team is currently playing plain and disciplined cricket, and this formula is working for him. “We want to be humble, want to be in discipline and focus on our performance.”
