KL Rahul has finally broken his silence on leaving the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) franchise. He said that he wanted to explore new options and was looking for a team where he could play with freedom. After Rahul left LSG, there was constant talk in the cricket fraternity as to why he ended his relationship with the franchise.
Questions were also raised whether the team management decided to release him or it was their own decision. However, Rahul himself clarified that he wants to explore opportunities with a different franchise. Now he wants to make a new beginning. Rahul broke his silence on parting ways with LSG during a conversation on Star Sports.

KL said, “I want to start afresh. I wanted to look at my options and I want to go and play where I can get some freedom and the atmosphere in the team is a little lighter. Sometimes you need to go away and find something good for yourself.”
Let us tell you that 32-year-old Rahul captained LSG in the last three seasons, in which the team was successful in reaching the playoffs twice. LSG finished seventh last season, with Rahul scoring 520 runs in 14 matches at a strike rate of 136.13. He has so far scored 4683 runs in 132 IPL matches, which includes four centuries and 37 half-centuries.
Rahul also wants to make a comeback in the Indian T20 team through a strong performance in the IPL. He played his last T20 International match in the year 2022. Rahul said, “I have been out of the T20 team for some time. I know where I stand as a player, I know what I need to do to bounce back. So I will wait for this IPL season so that I get a chance to come back and enjoy my cricket. My aim is to make a comeback in the T20 team.”
