Delhi: South Africa has announced its team for the three-match T20 series against Pakistan. In this series, explosive wicketkeeper batsman Heinrich Klaasen has been given the responsibility of captaincy. Aiden Markram, the regular captain of South Africa’s limited overs team, is busy in the ongoing Test series against Sri Lanka. In such a situation, he will not be able to be a part of the T20 series.

When and where will the matches take place?

Three matches of the T20 International series will be played in Durban, Centurion and Johannesburg respectively.

These big players will also remain out

Apart from Markram, many key players like Marco Jansen, Keshav Maharaj, Kagiso Rabada, and Tristan Stubbs will also be out of the T20 series. All of them are busy in the ongoing Test series against Sri Lanka. However, these players will return in the ODI series, which will be played after the T20 series.

Three new players will join the team later

After the end of the second Test match against Sri Lanka, Matthew Britzke, Kwena Mafaka and Ryan Rickelton will be part of the T20 team. At the same time, there is doubt about Tabrez Shamsi playing in the first match of the series, because he is playing in the ongoing Global Super League in Guyana.

Preparation for ODI and Champions Trophy

After the T20 series, a three-match ODI series will be played between Pakistan and South Africa. Through this series, both the teams will also focus on preparations for the Champions Trophy to be held in 2025.
