Delhi: India’s Dhakad spinner Kuldeep Yadav has praised West Indies spin all -rounder Sunil Naren during IPL 2025. Kuldeep admitted that Naren taught him the importance of ‘length bowling’, which proved to be helpful in becoming a better spinner. Kuldeep is part of the Delhi Capitals (DC), while Naren plays for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). Both players have played together for a long time for KKR.
Advice to pay attention to length bowling
Talking to ‘Jio Hotstar’, Kuldeep said, “A bowler should always try to dominate the batsman. Bowlers like Jasprit Bumrah and Sunil Naren continue to do this. I learned a lot from Naren while living in KKR. He always used to emphasize the importance of length bowling. At that time I thought that I was just backing on my skills but now I paid a lot of attention to my length and it has benefited a lot. “
Maintaining economy rate challenging
Kuldeep played a key role in the victory of Delhi Capitals by one wicket of Delhi Capitals against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in IPL 2025. He took two wickets in that match. Kuldeep said that there are always good batsmen in the IPL, which makes it very difficult for the bowlers to maintain the economy rate. He said, “There is a tough competition for IPL bowlers. You can take wickets, but always cannot expect to maintain an economy rate of six or seven runs per over. It is a challenging format with high quality players.”
