Delhi: The International Cricket Council (ICC) is requesting some full member countries to formally recognize the T10 cricket format. This is a small version of cricket, in which every team plays 10 overs. This format is becoming increasingly popular and top players from all over the world are participating in it. However, it has not yet received international recognition like Test, ODI and T20I.

As the T10 format is becoming popular among the audience, the ICC has been asked to interview it by interviewing it.

According to the BBC Sport report, at least two ICC full members of the full members want T10 format to be given List A. If it is approved, the figures of recognized T10 matches will be included in the official records of the players.

This discussion was held informally during the ICC board meeting held from 10 to 13 April in Harare, Zimbabwe. However, the subject was not on the official agenda, some board members raised it. However, at present, most board members did not show much support on this.

Let us tell you that the first major league tournament of T10 was held in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in 2017. Since then, this format has been constantly becoming popular, and big players like Jose Butler have been seen playing in it. Countries like West Indies, Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe have also started their domestic T10 leagues.

Significantly, if this format gets the green signal of the ICC, then all the teams of international level will be seen playing in it.
