In the 16th match of IPL 2025, Lucknow Super Giants registered a stunning win against Mumbai Indians by 12 runs. The team scored 203 runs on the board while batting first. In response, Mumbai’s team could score only 191 runs. Lucknow has reached 6th position in the points table after this victory. But after the match, IPL has imposed a huge fine on team captain and star bowler Digvesh Singh.

The IPL has imposed a fine of Rs 12 lakh on Rishabh Pant for maintaining a slow over in the match against Mumbai Indians. At the same time, Digvesh Singh has been fined 50 percent of the match fees, who made indecent gestures after dismissing the batsman. Let me tell you, before this, Digvesh was fined in the match against Punjab Kings due to his celebration style and he also got a demerit point.

IPL issued an official statement on Saturday, April 5, stating,

“Lucknow Super Giants captain Rishabh Pant has been fined for retaining slow-cards by his team during the 16th match of IPL 2025 against Mumbai Indians at Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow on Friday. Because in the ongoing season, his team’s first offense was in the season under the Orticle 2.22 of the Code of Conduct, which was related to the minimum over-recruit crime, hence the minimum over-recipient is a fine of Rs. 12 lakhs.”

“Lucknow Super Giants bowler Digvesh Singh has been fined 50 percent of his match fees for violation of IPL Code of Conduct during his team’s match against Mumbai Indians. It was his second level 1 crime under Orticle 2.5 this season and hence, he had earned two demerit marks in addition to a demerit point, which he had received after the Punjab Kings.”
