Focus was on strong middle order and finishing
Goenka said, “Our auction was excellent. Our focus was on strong middle order and finishing. The order from numbers 3 to 8 is now very strong. Also, we have relied on the Indian fast bowling attack rather than the international fast bowlers. Now there is a good balance of both in the team.”
There are four leaders in the team
The LSG owner also talked about the importance of leadership in the team. He said, “We have four leaders in our team – Rishabh Pant, Nicholas Pooran, Aiden Markram and Mitchell Marsh. All of them play with winning mentality and strategy. “Especially Rishabh Pant has the passion and flexibility to win, which can take the team to new heights.”
Pant will remain a part of LSG for 10-12 years
Referring to the T20 World Cup 2024 final, Goenka said that he liked Pant’s attitude of controlling the match on the field. He said, “At that time I thought that I wish Rishabh was in my team. He has recovered from injury and returned in excellent form. I hope he will be a part of LSG for the next 10-12 years.”
Goenka also admitted that no team is perfect, but his team is now prepared with better balance.
