Delhi: For the Indian team, the squad for Champions Trophy 2025 can be announced in the next few days. Along with this, BCCI can also select the team for the domestic limited overs series against England. A 5-match T20 and 3-match ODI series will be played between India and England from January 22.

Rahul likely to get rest

According to reports, Indian team’s regular wicketkeeper-batsman KL Rahul may be rested from this series. This could mean that Rishabh Pant will get a chance as wicketkeeper-batsman in all the 8 matches against England. However, Rahul has been assured that he will get a place in the team for the Champions Trophy 2025, and hence he is taking rest from this series.

Selection confirmed for Champions Trophy

According to a Times of India report, Rahul will be rested from the eight-match white-ball series against England, which includes five T20s and three ODIs.

Not part of T20 series

According to the source, “Rahul has got a place for the Champions Trophy, so he is being rested from the series.” Although Rahul is not currently a part of India’s T20 team, he has been India’s leading wicketkeeper-batsman in ODI cricket and has performed well in the middle order.
