Manoj Tiwari has claimed that MS Dhoni should have retired after winning the IPL 2023 title with CSK and now he is slowly losing his self-respect among the fans. Dhoni, who remains an important player of the CSK lineup, has failed to make an impact this season, causing Chennai to struggle.

Dhoni has scored 76 runs in the 4 matches played so far, but fans and experts have questioned his batting position. The Chennai Super Kings veteran scored 30 off 26 balls, as Chennai lost the third consecutive match against DC on Saturday, 5 April. Talking to Cricbuzz, Tiwari felt that the 2023 final was the ideal time for Dhoni to retire.

The former Indian cricketer said that the fans have started disliked by the CSK veteran, and this is a sign that the magic is no longer working. They said that, “I think the right time for him to retire was 2023, when he won the IPL Trophy. He should have retired. Somewhere, I think whatever fame, name and honor he had earned from cricket – the way he is playing in the last two years, all this is going to end.”

Tiwari said, “Fans are not able to see him playing in this way and that shine is ending in them. The confidence he has created among the fans in the last few years – especially in the hearts of the fans of Chennai – the way after the last match, the way fans took to the streets and gave interviews against him, it should have been indicated that it is no longer working.”

Along with this, Tiwari questioned Stephen Fleming’s comments and said that Dhoni cannot bat more than 10 overs. The former cricketer feels that these decisions are not being taken in the interest of the team. Tiwari said that someone should come forward and ask management to stop this experiment.
