Delhi: Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) performed brilliantly against Gujarat giants in their first match of WPL 2025 and won a historic victory by chasing a huge target of 202 runs. In this match played at Kotambi Stadium, Vadodara, RCB won by 6 wickets while scoring 9 balls and set the record for the biggest run chair in WPL history. The magnificent innings of Ellis Perry and Richa Ghosh brought RCB to this historic achievement.

A big target of 202 runs

RCB captain Smriti Mandhana won the toss and decided to bowl first. Gujarat giant batting first set a huge target of 201 runs. His captain Ashley Gardner appeared in brilliant form, scoring 79 runs from 37 balls, including 8 sixes. Beth Muni scored 56 runs from 42 balls and Diandra Dotin scored 25 off 23 balls.

RCB started weak

RCB did not start well, and he soon lost the wicket of two of his leading batsmen. Gardner dismissed Smriti Mandhana and Daniel Watt quickly. However, Alice Perry took RCB out of the struggle and scored 57 runs off 34 balls.
