IPL 2025: Rajasthan Royals suffered an embarrassing defeat by 58 runs against Gujarat Titans in the last match. The team chased a target of 218 runs and was all out at a score of 159 in 19.2 overs. This is RR’s third defeat in the ongoing season. After losing the match against Gujarat, Rajasthan captain Sanju Samson and the entire team have suffered a major setback.
The BCCI has imposed a fine of Rs 24 lakh for maintaining a slow over rate on Sanju during the match. Whereas, the remaining players of playing 11, including the impact player, were fined either six lakh rupees or 25 percent of their match fees.
IPL wrote this in official statement
IPL released the official statement on Thursday, 10 April, said,
“Rajasthan Royals captain Sanju Samson has been fined as his team maintained a slow over-rate during the 23rd Match of IPL 2025 against the Gujarat Titans at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Because it is the second offense of his team in the ongoing season of his team under Orticle 2.22 of the IPL’s Code of Conduct, which is related to minimum over-rate crime, hence the minimum of crime, so 24 lakh rupees. The rest of the players of the playing XI, including the impact player, will be fined either six lakh rupees or 25 percent of their match fees, whichever is less. ”
Sanju played 41 runs against Gujarat
As long as Sanju Samson was present at the crease in the run chase against Gujarat Titans, Rajasthan had the hopes of victory. But when he was out against the famous Krishna in the 13th over, all the expectations were over. Sanju scored 41 runs in 28 balls with the help of 4 fours and two sixes. Apart from the RR captain, Shimran Hetmyer (52) and Ryan Parag (26) contributed, but could not reach the threshold of victory to the team.
