Mohammad Kaif has reacted to Rishabh Pant’s statement. He suggested the LSG captain that LSG should prioritize to maintain players who can fit throughout the session, rather than making heavy investments on hurt-hit players.

Kaif said after the match, “I would like to retain the entire season by paying money to the players. The entire bowling attack of LSG is likely to be injured. I am not saying that I do not get hurt, but do not retain the players who are more likely to get hurt, do not retain them by paying huge amount. Instead, buy them in auction instead.”

Prior to the mega-auction in 2024, LSG retained Nicholas Puran (Rs 21 crore), Ravi Bishnoi (Rs 11 crore), Mayank Yadav (Rs 11 crore), Mohsin Khan (Rs 4 crore) and Ayush Badoni (Rs 4 crore). However, both of his retained fast bowlers – Mayank and Mohsin – became sebahar. Mayank Yadav played only two matches in IPL 2025, but could not do anything special there.
