Delhi: Mohammed Shami, the legendary fast bowler of the Indian cricket team and the Indian Premier League (IPL) for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), met Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. The meeting took place on Monday on the occasion of Shami’s arrival in Lucknow, where his team has been played against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). Shami shared the information of this meeting on his official Twitter handle.
Shami appreciated the leadership of Chief Minister Adityanath, saying, “Today I got a glorious opportunity to meet Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Shri Yogi Adityanath. Our discussions, leadership and transformative possibilities for our state were rich in insight focused on the possibilities.”
He added, “The Chief Minister presented a roadmap for development, which stressed on sustainable development and social progress. Their commitment to empower communities echos deeply, which motivates us all to contribute to positive changes. It is perceived to see such dedication for the betterment of our society, and I am anxious to be a part of this direction of Uttar Pradesh. Together, we can turn the dream into reality. “
Mohammed Shami, originally from Amroha district of Uttar Pradesh, moved to West Bengal to give a new direction to the cricket career and made his first class cricket debut in the 2010-11 Ranji Trophy session. In 2013, he made his debut against Pakistan representing India in international cricket.
It is worth noting that recently, IPL 2025 was postponed for a week due to India-Pakistan military tension, after which it has started on Saturday.
