On December 1, an NCA team went to see Shami in Rajkot, where he was playing in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. The objective of the team was to evaluate Shami’s progress. This team included national selector SS Das, BCCI Sports Science Wing head Nitin Patel and strength and conditioning trainer Nishant Bardule. According to sources, Shami has not been able to go to Australia at this time.
