Delhi: There is a lot of talk about Mohammed Shami joining the team led by Rohit Sharma for the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Australia. Meanwhile, Shami caught everyone’s attention by performing brilliantly for Bengal in the pre-quarterfinal match of Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2024. According to reports, Shami is awaiting clearance from the National Cricket Academy (NCA), and this match could probably be his last in India before he flies to Australia.
‘Send Shami to Australia soon’, this Pakistani player is worried about India
Shami did wonders with the bat
Mohammed Shami made the best score of his T20 career and helped Bengal reach a respectable score. Bengal’s top order batting collapsed early due to poor shot selection, and the team was on the verge of being bowled out around 130. When Bengal was struggling at the score of 114/8, Shami played a brilliant inning of 32 runs in 17 balls, taking the team to 159 runs. The special thing was that 19 runs were scored in the last over of the innings, out of which 18 runs came from Shami’s bat.
Difficult to play in Gaba Test
According to media reports, Shami can be considered available for selection for the last two Test matches. However, there is very little time left for the Gabba Test, due to which his chances of playing in the third Test seem quite low.
Mohammed Shami’s recent performance and the increasing curiosity about his fitness shows how important a player he is for Team India. The team management does not want to rush his return, but the fans are hoping that Shami will be seen on the field soon.
