Delhi: In the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, Mumbai Indians (Mi) suffered a major setback. The team’s young bowler Vignesh Puthur has been ruled out of the entire season due to injury. Before the important match against Rajasthan Royals (RR), this news is going to increase concern for Mumbai. Vignesh Puthur made her debut in the match against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) earlier this season. He played a total of 5 matches and took 5 wickets so far. But, now his journey has stopped here due to his injury.

According to the official press release of Mumbai Indians, Puthur’s two legs have been found to have stress reaction on bones. For this reason, he will not be able to play further. However, he will stay with the team and will release the franchise under the supervision of the medical and fitness team.

Crow is replacement of Puthur?

Mumbai has included leg -spinner Raghu Sharma in the team as his replacement. Raghu has played for Punjab and Pondicherry in domestic cricket. He has experience of 11 First Class, 9 List A and 3 T20 matches. He has taken 57 wickets in first class cricket, in which he has taken five wickets and 10 wickets 3 times.

In the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2024-25, he took 14 wickets in 9 matches, performing brilliantly for Punjab. This is his first time in IPL. He is associated with Mumbai Indians at a base price of ₹ 30 lakh.

The statement issued by the IPL said, “Mumbai Indians have signed leg -spinner Raghu Sharma as a replacement of Vignesh Puthur. Puthur is out of the entire tournament due to injury. Raghu Sharma is born in Jalandhar, Punjab on 11 March 1993 and he is a brilliant performance in domestic cricket.”
