Delhi: After the ceasefire between India and Pakistan, the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season is going to resume from May 17. However, in the meantime, the availability of foreign players has become a major problem for many franchises.

Delhi Capitals (DC) on Wednesday declared Bangladesh fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman a replacement of Jake Fraser McGark. However, now the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has raised questions about this decision.

According to the report of ESPNcricinfo, BCB CEO Nizamuddin Chaudhary has said that the board has not received any official request from the IPL so far. He clarified that any foreign player usually has to take a no objection certificate (NOC) from his domestic board to play in the IPL, but no such contact has been made in the case of Mustafizur.

Chaudhary further said, “Mustafizur has to join the team in the UAE as per the scheduled schedule. Neither we have received any information from the IPL officers nor Mustafizur himself has given any information.”

At the same time, Mustafizur has also shared a picture of his flight going to UAE on X (East Twitter).

Significantly, Mustafizur is part of Bangladesh’s T20 team, which has to play two different T20 series against UAE and Pakistan in the coming days. Bangladesh will play two T20 matches in UAE on 17 and 19 May, while the matches against Pakistan are to be held on 25th, 27th and 30th May, and 1 and 3 June. All of them collide with the playoff schedule of the IPL.
