Delhi: The New Zealand team has been announced for the ODI series against Pakistan. According to the New Zealand Cricket Board (NZC), Tom Latham will lead the team, while Mohammad Abbas of Pakistani origin will also be part of the ODI team against Pakistan.
Abbas was born in Pakistan and then went to New Zealand with his family. His father, Azhar Abbas played first class cricket in Pakistan. Azhar Abbas has also represented Auckland and Wellington and is an assistant coach of the fire board.
The board has said that 8 players of the team playing in the final of the ICC Champions Trophy are in the ODI team against Pakistan. The New Zealand team consists of Adi Ashok, Michael Bracewell, Mark Chapman, Jacob Dafi and Mitchell H, while Nick Kelly, Will O’Rurke, Ben Sairs, Nathan Smith and Will Young will also be part of the team.
According to the board, due to the IPL, Mitchell Santner, Rachan Ravindra, Devon Conway and Glenn Philips will not be part of the team. The three -match ODI series between Pakistan and New Zealand will begin on March 29, while other matches of the series will be played on 2 and 5 April.
